Happy Mother’s Day
Parents, and especially mothers, have an esteemed status in Islam. Abu Huraira Raziallahu Anhu narrated that a man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim).
Mother's Day is a holiday that celebrates mothers everywhere. The sacrifices that moms make each day are unimaginable, and even though children can never repay them, they continue to work day in and day out.
We should appreciate our mothers for bringing us into this world and being a means of support for us throughout our lives. Through verbal thanks, appreciative actions, and spending quality time, please make sure you remind moms how loved they are this Sunday and everyday!
