My 1st Ramadan Award

The My 1st Ramadan is an award given to students who fasted their first entire month of Ramadan as a motivator to fast!

In Sahih Muslim, it is reported that the companions of the Prophet ﷺ used to motivate and teach their children to fast. “The Companions said; We henceforth observed fast on it ('Ashura) and made our children observe that. We went to the mosque and made toys out of wool for them and when anyone felt hungry and wept for food, we gave them these toys till it was the time to break the fast.”

We are so proud of these students and all of the students that attempted to fast this Ramadan!

Ramadan School Decoration Activity

Our students learned about the treasures of Ramadan, the levels of fasting, and Taqwa (mindfulness of Allah SWT) as the main goal of fasting.

Also, our students colored Ramadan themes to welcome the blessed month then stacked the coloring pages around a globe expressing that Ramadan and Muslims are from around the world.  The melody of Nasheed expressed the students’ joy of receiving Ramadan and gratefulness to Allah SWT.

In addition, with the help of their teachers and volunteers, the Sunday school students cleaned and organized their classrooms.

Finally, the students, teachers and volunteers ate lunch together in a family environment.

Some of the Islamic values that were emphasized in this activity were: cleanliness, teamwork, and love for all.
